I wish I could be writing that I updated on of the Big Three, but I can’t. Instead I can write about the site getting a new look. I’ve had the site for about three months now (since mid to late November 2007) and I already got bored with the old layout. I gave it a complete overhaul. I took away some pages, like the forums (no one was using them) and my artwork (it’s my writing site, I might create a site devoted for my artwork.). And added some pages, Current Poll, About Me, and a Support/Donate page. Plus I rearranged how the writings were grouped.

Here’s a basic breakdown:

In Progress Writings: I put all the writings that were currently unfinished here. There’s a summary, a rating, and a link to the PDF file.

Completed Writings: I tend to put all writings that have more than 15,000 words to them here once they are completed. But since I haven’t finished Jade which has 22,904 words as of now, (Locked Away only has a 8,688 and Changing Metamorphosis has a measly 6,747 words) I haven’t got any thing placed there.

Shorts: This is where the writings with less than 15,000 words go when they are completed. So The Halloween Party (H.P.), But I Love Your Nerdy Ways (B.I.L.Y.N.W), Secret Admirer (S.A.), and the newest addition Natalia (Natalia) are placed here.

Current Poll: This is where I plan on placing different polls about subjects I’m interested in knowing my reader’s opinions on. Right now, I have a poll on which short story should I start. I have summaries of three stories, Buried Desire (H.P. sequel), Passing Time (a semi fanfiction), and Do You Take Cream in Your Coffee? (an interracial short).

About Me: The about me has the same blurb as the about me page does. I felt the need to do this since I might not get a person referred from one of the sites to the other. Someone might happen upon this blog or the site, independently. And I wanted them to know a little about me.

Support/Donate: I thought long and hard about putting this page up. I want to keep my draft writings free for as long as possible. But I also want to have my own domain. Well I want a good domain, so that I don’t have to worry about a lot of things. Plus I have a lot of creative ideas I want to put into practice with my writing site. Which means a lot of space and bandwidth= a pretty big chunk of change. I also want the security of a reliable server, I don’t want my site to be unavailable when there are potential readers out there ready to discover my writings. So I justified this in my head with a they can donate if they so choose, no pressure.

There’s still the Contact Me, Guestbook, and the Links pages, they haven’t changed (although I did take away some links).

But as mention before there is an addition to the pack of writings, Natalia. A longer than usual (well for me anyways) one shot, 8,031 words. My usual length for one shots is less than 4,000 words and usually they encompass one scene. But since I was going through some major writer’s block, I just let the creative juices flow. I went through three different endings in my head before I got the one I ended up with. It’s not the best writing I’ve done, but it’s something. I like it, which is something,since I rarely like any creative thing I do. I also tried to let in go into some things that I haven’t really wrote about, you might notice a touch of domination in there. It’s an idea I’ve been toying with. I have a Novella idea that cause for it, I wanted to know if I could write something that intense and be okay with it. I didn’t go into a lot of detail but like I said there’s a touch of it there.

Well that’s all for now. I’m still working on the February goals, I hope to have them to you by tomorrow and I hope to have a regular update before Valentine’s Day. Until next time, Happy Writing!
